Underbust corsets such as waist cinchers are most popular for waist training, as they are versatile and practical for daily wear. However, some of our overbust styles are designed to beautifuly highlight and support a dramatically cinched waist. Consider adding straps for posture support in your shoulders, or attached garters for beautiful lines and an all-day hold on your stockings.

Because you’ll see the greatest change at the beginning of your waist training journey, it’s often best to start with a standard fit waist trainer before graduating to a custom corset with a personalized or even fully bespoke fit.

Best Fabrics for Waist Training Corsets

A waist training corset should fit well and be made of a sturdy material. All Dark Garden corsets feature the highest quality components. For waist training, we recommend simple fabrications like our poplin or specialty broché. Reinforcing the ends of the bone channels with leather ‘bullets’ is recommended, as this can dramatically improve the lifespan of your corset.

How to Waist Train

Wear your corset 3-7 days per week, for 4-18 hours per day.
If you choose to wear your corset daily, we recommend alternating between two corsets.
You will likely be ready for a more pronounced waist reduction after 3-8 months. You may even be ready for a bespoke fit!
